Formation of TNAA (1964)
At the 7th Triennial Convention in 1964, held in Cleveland, Ohio, the organization was formally chartered as the Tuskegee National Alumni Association (TNAA). Daniel W. Andrews (Class of 1922) presided as the Association's first National President, marking a new era of national leadership and coordinated alumni engagement.

National Organization and Regional Structure (1916-1963)
In 1916, Jesse O. Thomas (Class of 1911) initiated the movement that led to the creation of the Tuskegee General Alumni Association, which met annually and convened on campus every three years. The organization continued to strengthen its structure, and in 1938, Ernest L. Dimitry (Class of 1916) led the formation of the first regional organization to coordinate alumni club activity in the Northeastern United States.

Expansion Beyond Campus (1905-1915)
In 1905, Mamie Abercrombie organized the first off-campus Tuskegee Alumni Club in Montgomery, Alabama. This model quickly spread, with a second club forming in Chicago in 1910. Over time, the alumni network expanded to more than 80 alumni clubs and six professional associations across the country.

Origins and Early Alumni Engagement (1885-1904)
Organized alumni engagement at Tuskegee began on August 22, 1885, when the first class of thirty students graduated from Tuskegee Normal School. Valedictorian B. Town Harvey convened his classmates and led the formation of the Tuskegee Alumni Association, serving as its first president.
