In 1916, Jesse O. Thomas (Class of 1911) initiated the movement that led to the creation of the Tuskegee General Alumni Association, which met annually and convened on campus every three years.
The organization continued to strengthen its structure, and in 1938, Ernest L. Dimitry (Class of 1916) led the formation of the first regional organization to coordinate alumni club activity in the Northeastern United States.
